FYI - Frozen Yogurt Indulgence
Last Sunday, we (Mark, Tish and I) decided to explore the new Rustan's supermarket near ABS CBN (the name of the building escapes me, sorry!) The first thing I said when I got there was, "Let's try that new yogurt place!" To which Mark and Tish just rolled their eyes and said, "Owkay...". I was obviously the only one who loved yogurt in this part of town, or at least in this family.
I was seriously craving for White Hat or YoSwirls, and well, this is the only froyo shop here and I was bored, so I might as well.
As usual I got the mango + graham (or choco chips) combination, which is the safest combi of all. I wanted to get all 3 but it would turn out to be a little expensive -- white choco chips are considered as a premium topping and therefore worth Php 20 (please see pricelist above). Not really as expensive as the froyos I usually have, but I was in a pinch so I settled for 2 toppings.
The frozen yogurt itself was not as creamy as let's say, White Hat. My sister who just decided 2 weeks ago that she has found a liking to froyos, specifically White Hat only, doesn't like it either. She found it too sour for her taste. And it was too bland, it resembled that homemade froyo I first tasted at the Greenmeadows bazaar last year, minus the gritty consistency. The mango was ripe which was good (Cali Berry at Robinson's Galleria gave me a spoonful of VERY sour mango bits! Boo.) and the graham was ok. Funny thing is, I didn't see the grahams on display so I asked if I could see them firstt. To which the guy convenienty pointed to a pack of store-bought crushed grahams (still in plastic with the obvious M.Y. San brand) and said, "Ito po Ma'am." I wish they thought of packaging it properly among all the other toppings. What a turn off.
I think what's worth trying next time is mixing the froyo with the FIC ice cream, which to me, is defeating the purpose of going healthy. Haha! But that's something interesting to try for next time :)
