Mid-Year Splurge
I went to Midtown today because I was the only one in my family who received Topshop's Private Sale ticket. My sister works in the nearby PAL office so she almost "coerced" me to bring her to Topshop today. Anyway, we ended up not liking the stuff on sale (which always happens anyway) even though they were 10%-70% off. Yeah we're fickle like that.
So we went to Dorothy Perkins and Tish bought a few long tops that were on sale for Php 500. We are legging freaks so anything we can pair with leggings/tights such as long tops, dresses, etc are the items worth buying. When lunch break was over, I decided not to head home just yet and walk around Midtown for awhile.
Midtown is almost my favorite mall to date. Mainly because its the most accessible -- I only ride 2 jeepneys (that's 1 going to the mall and 1 going home) for only (hold your breath!) Php 20 total! Plus I love the food there -- KXP, White Hat, TOSH, T-Boy, etc. And I can go there anytime without a companion -- Hello! Laking Taft ito! And it's the nearest mall that houses the following premier boutiques such as Topshop, Aldo, Dorothy Perkins, Bayo Kids, MNG, The Face Shop and Beauty Bar :D
So it's really more of a one-stop shop for us. Plus! My sister works nearby so I always have someone to have lunch with or someone to pester when I'm bored. Haha. Anyway, I'm digressing....
Here are the following finds that I spent good money on (items that I know I will wear/use for a long time, are of very good quality and good taste; plus some that caught my eye but didn't necessarily go home with):
1. Purple Cardigan (which I do not have a picture of boo-hoo) made of very soft, almost feather-like knitted material. I got it in a size bigger than I normally wear because I like "oversized" tops which just "hangs" there. Plus I wanted it long enough to wear with leggings.
2. Teal sandals from Aldo (I love teal, I even have a teal bag from Topshop which I bought 3 years ago and I still love it to bits):
I love shopping at Aldo because they have comfy shoes/sandals and they have size 5! Haha! These fit me perfectly and the soles are so soft, which is good because I walk a lot and my feet hurt sometimes. This is great with shorts and skirts because of its low-cut style.
3. Remember the MNG summer dress I featured before? Yes, it's still there, and was going for only a little over Php 1000 (pssst, it's the last one so go get it!):
4. And I had to go home with some sort of cosmetic product. It wasn't part of the plan, but I just thought all the pink hues perfectly complemented each other. So I present The Face Shop's Pure Blossom Powder Pearl Minis:
It gives a pretty pink flush on fair skin. I sometimes use it over my Face Shop's Illuminating Cushion Blusher, for a more dewy finish. The best part of this product is the brush, which is reminiscent of L'Oreal's Shine Delice blush brush. The shape contours the apples of my cheeks perfectly for fast and fool-proof application. For half the price of L'Oreal, I just had to have it. It's also good to note that the blush itself also gives out a very pretty scent.
So this is me and my sister happily posing for the camera:
So what about you? What did you bring home today?
Prices have been withheld to make me feel less guilty of my purchases. Tee-hee.
